What the course is about

Welcome to the course "[BIG] Large Floral Compositions"!

I've prepared 5 unique floral compositions for you.

The main theme of my artwork is flowers and bouquets. I find it especially interesting to create beautiful compositions and seek out exquisite combinations of objects to make a painting striking and captivating.

I'll introduce you to my watercolor technique and also teach you how to choose subjects for your paintings and find interesting references. The technique we'll use most often is step-by-step washes, moving from one fragment to another. For some subjects, we'll also use the "wet-on-wet" technique for background and distant planes.

And of course, we'll chat about important aspects like color, tone, and atmospheric perspective. I'll share with you my favorite color combinations and mixes.

To make the painting subjects as interesting as possible, we'll spice up our bouquets with birds, books, a stuffed toy, and even draw a vintage scooter in a flower field.

Who will benefit from the course:

This course is perfect for those who already have experience with watercolor and are looking to improve their skills.

In this course, you'll not only get to know watercolor techniques but also learn how to pick great subjects for your paintings and find inspiration in interesting references.

This course is for you if you've already tried drawing flowers individually and want to learn how to create complex floral compositions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Of course, you should! The course is designed in such a way that it starts with simple paintings and then moves on to more complex ones, so you'll have time to get into the process and achieve high results!

For experienced artists, the course will also be beneficial. You will further refine your technique and also increase your visual literacy.

If you have a plan without feedback, everything will depend on your personal pace at which you take the lessons.

With feedback plans, we actively go through the lessons for two months from the moment you «unfreeze» the course.

In general, I recommend taking the course at a leisurely pace. Enjoy the process more.

It's never too late to learn to draw. In our school, 30% of students are over 50 years old. And they happily paint, develop their skills, creative thinking, and feel younger in spirit and mind!

At the end of the lesson, you will upload a photograph of your work. The instructor will be able to leave text, graphic (annotations on the drawing), as well as audio comments on your work.

At the bottom of each lesson, there will be a comments block where you can ask any questions about the learning process.
