Program of the marathon

Painting «Moon Glade»

At the marathon, we:

  • Paint the moon and create clouds using the displacement technique;
  • We will sculpt the far background with spots in wet-on-wet technique;
  • We'll convey the moon glade without mask and gouache;
  • We will work closely with the tone of the planes;
  • We will sculpt the shape of the stones in several steps, using glazing.
Day 1

Working with a pencil

We will learn how to:

  • Create a pencil sketch;
  • We will learn how to form the foreground, middle, and far grounds;
  • Let's define the necessary areas for hatching and more active lines.
Day 2

Working in wet-on-wet technique on both sides

We will learn how to:

  • Perform a step-by-step wetting of parts of the picture;
  • Create the necessary colors by mixing;
  • We'll do the main pouring.
Day 3

Stones, reflections and details in a wet-on-dry technique

We will learn how to:

  • Work with an eraser brush;
  • Depict the texture of the stones;
  • Talk about the chiaroscuro and the difference in temperature of the objects in the picture;
  • Refine the details.

Participate in all three streams to gain access to another bonus lesson:
«Storm in the Monochrome»

We will learn how to:

  • To focus not on color, but on tone - the main component of any painting;
  • We will try to create a dynamic composition without copying the reference;
  • We'll practice the planes in the landscape.
