What you'll draw during the marathon
Day 1
Let's draw a delicious khachapuri
In this lesson, you will:
- you’ll get to try your hand at food illustration;
- you’ll work with different shapes and learn how to create volume on them;
- you’ll show different textures using markers;
- you’ll find out what’s special about working with color in food illustration;
- you’ll practice creating shadows on white.
Day 2
Let's draw a white crocus flower
In this lesson, you will:
- learn how to use a liner brush to create crisp outlines;
- learn how to create different shades of green using just a few green markers;
- you’ll find out how to create soft shadows on white petals;
- you’ll play around with a “torn” background effect.
Day 3
Let's draw blueberry pancakes
In this lesson, you will:
- you’ll work on building clear shapes for your objects;
- you’ll create volume and texture for the metal;
- you’ll practice creating shadows and volume in food illustration;
- Add the finishing touches with some white materials to make your illustration look livelier and more three-dimensional.
Day 4
Let's draw a red tulip bouquet
In this lesson, you will:
- you’ll work with a colored outline;
- you’ll create smooth color transitions on the petals and leaves;
- add some unexpected colors to your drawing that will really work in favor of your story;
- you’ll practice making a solid wash for the background;
- add some texture and shine using a white pencil.
Day 5
Let's draw a wild clover study
In this lesson, you will:
- you’ll draw a piece with lots of details;
- you’ll play around with warm and cool colors in a botanical sketch;
- You'll practice the steps for creating a large piece using just one subject.
