Day 1

Painting Bamboo

In the lesson you will:

  • Learn to work with shades of ink and the texture of brush strokes
  • Practice basic elements for painting bamboo: trunk, thin branches, leaves
  • Create a monochrome composition on the theme of bamboo
  • Discover the symbolism of this plant in Eastern painting
Day 2

Painting Roses

In the lesson you will:

  • Learn to work with a set of color shades on the brush to convey the three-dimensional petals of roses
  • Improve your mastery of brushstroke techniques to assemble a rose flower from petals of various sizes
  • Master the technique of painting flowers, leaves, buds, and stems of roses
  • Create a composition on the theme of roses with the addition of Veronica flowers
Day 3

Painting Petunias

In the lesson you will:

  • Practice the technique of using the entire brush surface to maximize the transition of shades for the petunia petal
  • Learn to depict the flowers, buds, and leaves of petunias
  • Combine the studied elements into a composition with different shades of flowers
Day 4

Painting Cosmos

In the lesson you will:

  • Learn to work with color in Eastern painting
  • Practice the elements of cosmos: petals, flowers, buds, leaves
  • Create a three-dimensional composition on the theme of cosmos through tonal work
Day 5

Painting Clover

In the lesson you will:

  • Master the technique of layering elements to create a three-dimensional flower cap for the clover
  • Practice the technique of painting leaves and stems
  • Assemble a three-dimensional composition on the theme of a clover meadow

Which materials we will use during the marathon

  • Chinese or Japanese ink.
  • Rice paper (Chinese or Japanese), rice paper for calligraphy in rolls is also suitable. Formats A4 and A3.
  • Chinese brushes: contour (thin), medium 3 cm, large 4–5 cm. Preferably choose brushes made of dark hair.
  • Japanese or Chinese mineral paints. You can buy a set or individual colors in tubes of Chinese paints. For the course you will need the following colors: pink, blue, violet, light blue, yellow, red (optional).
  • Felt or wool mat as a base under the rice paper.
  • Two white saucers as a palette.
  • A glass of water.
  • Tissues.
