Tulip

  • shade with a smooth transition from light to shadow.

Calla

Duration: 2 hours

Today we're going to draw elegant calla lilies with a liner pen — they're just mesmerizing in their simplicity and grace.

  • place the light just right;
  • make the hatching on the petals more complex;
  • keep the overall light and shadow of the bud's shape.

Ink and Pen: Art of Quick Sketching

In this lesson, you'll learn how to use ink and pen to create expressive and dynamic sketches, exploring hatching and line techniques that'll help you capture movement and atmosphere in your artwork.

Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes

In this lesson, we'll draw several gorgeous flowers and take a closer look at what makes each one special.

You'll learn how to:

  • draw a simple shape — a sphere;
  • build a complex inflorescence while getting the hang of how to draw petals;
  • draw velvety petals;
  • capture the overall light and shadow without getting lost in the details.

Lesson 9

Flower Bouquet

Duration: 1 hour 45 minutes

Today we're going to put together a whole flower bouquet, where every single element will tell its own story about the beauty of nature.

You'll learn how to:

  • put together flowers of different shapes;
  • use composition tricks and figure out how to spread the values between different objects;
  • separate objects using lines and strokes.

Hellebore

In this lesson, we'll draw a hellebore — a mysterious flower that brightens up even the coldest months.

  • draw in the stamens and build up a rich tone in the petals;

In this lesson, we'll learn how to focus on the little details and explore the texture of tree bark, moss, and tiny mushrooms, all while creating a harmonious composition.

  • distribute tones and work with smooth transitions from one texture to another;
  • create a sense of flexibility in your drawing.

Sketchbook Review with Graphic Studies

In this lesson, we'll put together a composition with anemones to highlight how beautifully they work with other flowers.

You'll learn how to:

  • think through where every detail will go;
  • think through the rhythm of light and dark spots;
  • get your drawing ready for hatching;
  • distribute tonal values across the page, place accents;
  • create different textures using hatching.

Lesson 16

Forest Edge

Duration: 4 hours

We'll head out to the forest edge to capture that magical, peaceful vibe, and we'll draw all sorts of mushrooms, leaves, grass, and a nest.

You'll learn how to:

  • distribute tonal values across the paper, place accents;
  • create different textures using hatching;
  • think ahead about the foreground and background;
  • figure out the best spot for your composition's focal point;
  • put together a detailed drawing using lots of different references.

I have absolutely no drawing skills. Should I even take this course?

Absolutely, you should! The course is set up so we start with easy drawings and then move on to more challenging ones, so you'll have plenty of time to get into the flow and reach awesome results!

This course will be useful for experienced artists too. You'll get to practice your technique even more and expand your visual library.

At the end of the lesson, you'll upload a photo of your artwork. The teacher can leave you a text comment, draw right on your picture, or even send you an audio message.

At the bottom of each lesson, there'll be a comment section where you can ask any questions about the course.

If you're on a plan without feedback, it all depends on your own pace and how quickly you go through the lessons.

With feedback plans, we actively work through the lessons for two months from the moment you «unfreeze» the course.
